Our Story

We are masters-trained registered dietitians with a passion for helping preschoolers and students to feel included, connected, and capable when learning about food, eating, and nutrition.

For more than a decade, we have worked with early years and K-12 educators to support children and youth in learning about food and eating.

Our Vision

Children and youth learn about food and eating in ways that nourish mind and body.

Our Role

We help educators re-imagine how children and youth learn about food, eating, and nutrition. We do this by providing educators with practical and inclusive resources that support eating well and build food skills and literacy.

Our Values

  1. We work with children and youth, their educators, their families, and their communities to develop learning resources that reflect their food experiences, interests, and needs.

  2. We work with educators to develop food and nutrition learning resources that meet child care legislation and school curriculum expectations.

  3. We believe that nutrition education should be age-appropriate, skill-building, engaging, and inclusive of all children and youth, ways of eating, and bodies

  4. We respect the roles of the child and adult at mealtimes and during other food-related learning activities.

  5. We believe that all food has meaning and that gaining food skills, understanding food systems, and exploring food’s various impacts builds food literacy and a more thoughtful worldview.

  6. We are committed to ongoing critical assessment and evolution of our work.
